Why Invictus?
The most common question I've gotten when starting this business is "...why invictus?"​
Invictus is a Latin word meaning "unconquered," "unconquerable," "undefeatable," "invincible" -- you get the picture, I hope. It's also the title of a poem written by William Ernest Henley in 1875, and a 2009 film starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon.

Invictus as a word and idea has become a representative of resilience in the face of adversity, and as Henley's poem exclaims, "I am the master of my fate."
And it's our hope that through the power of tarot and other spiritual tools, we can help you realize and actualize your best self, help you work through undesirable behaviors rooted in trauma, and ultimately, live your life unconquered.

Our Approach
Tarot is fundamentally an art of storytelling, and the best stories are created together. When we engage in a reading, it is never just a one-way street, but can and should be a conversation (verbal OR non-verbal!) between the reader and the querent, more like bouncing ideas off each other rather than expecting one person (the reader) to have the answers.

That is because at Invictus Tarot, we believe that we already have all our own answers, sometimes they just need a little push out from our unconscious into the forefront of the conscious. Tarot is simply a tool, but a powerful one, that can help each of us write the next words, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters of this incredible book that is our life journey.
We invite you to come with an open mind and be as vulnerable with us as you feel comfortable. We aren't a replacement for licensed psychiatric or medical help, but we are here to help you find your best self in this beautiful universe.
